Sign of better weather? Time to uncover

We’re now part way through March, and it looks like the worst of our very strange weather is well and truly over. Over the last couple of months, both Sally and myself have had to work in all sorts of conditions. Rain, wind, snow, ice, cold and yesterday sunshine. This leads me nicely into a topic I’m often asked about. Protection Continue reading

HD Video progress

I promised in an earlier blog that I’d keep you across how I’m fairing with HD video and the Canon 1DmkIV. Well I have to say that it’s been a challenge and something very different to get my teeth into. The good thing is that it hasn’t been an easy thing to get my head around, which is good. 2010 well underway

What with the current economic climate, I was a little unsure what 2010 would bring. I’d worked hard since the middle of last year to make sure I had a couple of key contracts tied down, so at least I’d have some guaranteed work for 2010. Servers (part 2)

After much head scratching and searching on the internet, I decided that Windows Home Server might be worth a try. A couple of my web servers are running Windows server 2003, on which Windows Home Server (WHS) is based, so at least it would be familiar. I toyed with the idea of trying a Linux/Unix variant but decided I didn’t have the time to tip toe around problems and issues with device drivers and hardware incompatibilities. My budget didn’t quite stretch to a Mac server either (this is a project for later in the year). Continue reading
